MODEL SCHOOL INTRODUCED six new names for ‘The Houses’ this session, keeping up with the tradition of our persistent endeavour to introspect, innovate and strategically plan to improvise the existing practices.

The Six Houses as per the six existing colors of the school – Blue, Green, Red, Violet, Orange & Yellow were renamed as Vivekananda, Tagore, Aryabhatta, Kalam, Radhakrishnan & Sarojini respectively.

BLUE-Symbolizes trust, depth, confidence & intelligence. Swami Vivekananda-Known in his premonastic life as Narendra Nath Datta was an intelligent being, whose lectures aimed to rouse a religious consciousness of the people & create in them pride in their cultural heritage thereby bringing about unification of the then misled humans by focusing on promoting education & uplifting the downtrodden.

GREEN-The color of life, rejuvenation, energy & growth-could only be associated, with Rebindra Nath Tagore, Sobriquet Gurudev. Who was a polymath & brought about a new life in literature & music.

RED-In the color of fire & blood, of determination & power, of passion & love. We thought of associating this color with our ancient India-math emulation astronomer Aryabhatta. Did you know that he was aware of the concept of zero, the first to calculate the value of ‘pi’ or the diameter of AD, thereby justifying his love & passion for learning.

VIOLET-In the meaning of colors-violet represents the future, the imagination spiritual enlightment-while remaining grounded & royal. Abul pakir Jainulabdean kalam better know as the missile man was the obvious choice. He was the 11th president of India & although he studied physics & aerospace science, was hardworking, righteous & perhaps, the most loved man on this land.

ORANGE-Spell joy, warmth, creativity, determination, happiness & fascination. Our Ideal teacher, Dr. Sarvepalli, Radhakrishnan- the second president of India was our obvious choice for this color. One of India’s most distinguished twentieth century scholars of comparative religion & Philosophy, Dr. Radhakrishnan believed that teachers should be the best minds in the country,

YELLOW-The most luminous color of the spectrum-yellow signifies happiness & optimism, enlightment & creativity, sunshine & spring. We found the same warmth, intelligences & courage in ‘The Nightingale of India’ Sarojini Naidu-The first governor of the United provinces of Independent India renaissance movement-with a mission to improve the life of India women. We tirelessly strive to do a myriad of things & think out of the box to implement the inspirational moves-always to stimulate our children & got them moving.
